In my previous post I talked about Mars stationing Direct before he slllloowly starts moving forwards again. Well, technically speaking, he's now direct and Mars related affairs (and the houses he rules) will start to even out and move forward again in some way.
It's been a long, slow slog of Mars moving retro through Libra. You may want to wind back and check out my original post on Mars Retro and what it means.
Mars, though technically direct, is not really going to be visibly moving anywhere and will remain at this current position for another few weeks. While there may be a sense of sudden redirection, release or re-awakening, it's still potentially problematic and if it's making any aspects to your natal planets it will be making them until the beginning of June!
It's said that retro planets can be "weakened" or slowed but conversely they can also "bring things suddenly" as they say. Either way, it's not normal and our experience of Mars quality and narratives will be irregular and strange in some way. So watch out for those flare-ups if you have been repressing your need to assert yourself as you may quickly shift into damage control mode.
Because of this Retro dance, it has been a very long time for Mars to stay here in Libra, a sign he's not the best suited in. Mars moved into Libra on December 8th 2012 and will remain in Libra until July 26. that's 8 months! If 2014 has been a difficult year so far, this could point to the problems.
For those with Scorpio or Aries rising, this could be a potentially difficult times for our sense of identity or partnership, respectively.
Scorpio rising in particular will tend to be most troubled as Mars will have spent this extended period in their 12th house where we can feel like we are in a madhouse, stuck or mired in perpetual loops of escapism. It's a great time to really wrap up old personal habits/addictions, relationship patterns and projects and rediscover your identity, which may have been blurred in the past months. When mars finally jets out of this diminished state it will ingress into his home of Scorpio where it will be full throttle, once again. This occurs right as a New Moon in Leo and the 10th house will light up new status, career ambitions and workplace environment. This one in particular could be especially big and hopes will be high. The New Moon is exactly aligned with Jupiter. A rare thing, so get ready and finish up whatever is holding you back because when it's showtime this rehearsal period will be long gone.

Retro Mars Stationing
Mars has been in the sign of Libra, a sign where it is a debilitated or 'weakened', since December 8th and has been retrograde (and even deeper asleep) since February. Luckily for us with Mars prominent in the chart or as a ruling planet (aries/scorpio rising) this period of slowdown, frustration and drag is coming to an end.
The bad news is that the retro period hallmakrs of weirdness and potential for problems is strongest just as it Slows down to a dead stop (stationing) and then begins a slow forward movement once again. This means that things are primed and ready for both release but also crisis for those with planets near 9ยบ of certain sign but especially cardinal signs: Aries, cancer, Libra, Capricorn.
Remember, a planet going Direct is not a sudden thing that happens one day. Like the seasons or moon phases, it waxes and wanes in it's effects gradually and on it's own natural time line. It's often because we think that the 'coast is clear' when a planet 'goes direct' that we make hasty moves and really suffer the blow back.
Mars will be slowing down to it's stationary degree Thursday May 8th and will hang there for nearly 4 weeks! It will be moving out of this stationary degree in early June and moving ahead full steam in the days following. Obviously if you have to do something then you have to do it. You can't let the stars rule you but do be aware that there is greater potential for frustration, fights, cuts, burns and the need for, or problems related to, assertion.
Mars is willpower, force and aggression. Temper these qualities with Librian equanimity and poise. Don't burn any bridges, jump from any bridges or build any bridges just yet. Simply think before you act and don't let your passions carry you away and you should be fine.
