New Moon in Pisces

New Moon 21 degrees Pisces
Pisces is known for the soft dreaminess of the ocean at night but this period may seem a bit more turbulent than usual as there is a swirl of planets occupying Pisces including retrograde mercury which is about to turn direct. Mercury stationing direct is it's most powerful moment of this retrograde cycle. So, right now those waters may seem a bit more turbuent than usual especially for those with mutable rising signs, Piscse, sagittarius, Gemini and Virgo. Turbulence may be just what is needed, however and the movement may break us out of our ruts and get some much needed momentum.

Kicking up the possibilites of turbulence is that Pisces ruler, Jupiter in Gemini, the sign of it's detriment. Here Jupiter is more talk than action and his customary warm expasiveness has a tendency to turn into hot air and mixed messages. Increasing this susceptability of vice over virtue is that Gemini's ruler, Mercury is also poorly placed in the sign of pisces and is more confused than coherent. and, to make matters worse -er more pronounced(!), mercury in Pisces is in a tense square aspect to Jupiter where it is slowing down to stop in it's tracks and begin direct motion.

This stationary period is really where mercury retrograde gets it's bad reputation and, truth be told, it really only effects people who are being aspected by it personally ...and those talking to, relying or depending on the person being aspected. Even though Mercury will be going direct it doesn't mean we are clear of the whole retrograde menace as it will be stationary from March 16 to the 20th. Adn then there is the issue of it being in the sign of Pisecs until April 13th (my birthday!) where it is more suited to dreams than clarity.

As I said, you won't be feeling the more exasperating vibes of Retro Mercury unless is is aspecting you peronally and stationing to go direct or reverse. It goes direct March 16-20 at 5 Degrees Pisces so unless you have a personal planet or angle (rising sign, midhaven,ect) at 5 Pisces you will not experience it. I had Mercury square my neptune as it went retro and discovered I had lost the title to my car and, long story short, lost my car as a result.

Mercury going direct near this New Moon could also signal plans moving forward, albiet slowly and with caveats. Important calls may come in signaling forward momentum JUST in the nick of time.


Those with Mutable rising signs (or planets) will be feeling this New Moon the most (click here if you don't know). That is : Pisces, Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius. Pisces Rising : You are going through a major personality overhaull. Mutable signs mutate so this isn't exactly unusual for you but right now with New moon sharing the 1st house of Self with Mars, Venus and Retro Mercury, you could be going through a major identity shift or crisis. The last Virgo Full Moon was in your 7th House of partnerships and this identity shift could be coming from a major relationship change that happened at that time. With mercury going direct you could call back someone from your past -or someone from your past may come back to you in some way. Be extra careful in making or accepting promises during this time. You are likely feeling mystified about yourself and your own feelings. Don't let anyone agitate the already fluctuating reflections you are seeing in the mirror.

Gemini Rising : Jupiter is transiting your 1st house which is an excellent, once-every-12-year cycle, but Jupiter is not as strong and reliable as he could be so be extra careful about expanding or growing too much or too soon. This warning is particularly so in the case of career where the New Moon is occouring. A promotion or new start in the career is occouring for a lot (but not all!) of you. Make sure you are presenting a truthful image of yourself to superiors as Mercury stationing direct could alter any agreements about work, pay or job duties if someone finds out you have concelaed or altered something about yourself. However I don't mean to give undue fear in this scenario as it could be a wonderful development and your sense of self could be transformed in a wonderful way due to this new sense of authority and accomplishment. Just be weary of sudden change of agreements and miscommunications during the next few weeks.

Virgo Rising : Jupiter is transiting and boosting your 10th house of Career and prestige right now but the focus during this New Moon is set on relationships, which may dovetail back into career issues especially if you work with clients or have close relationships with co-workers. Mercury here can give misundestandings, misunderestimatings, mispeakings and smitakes in cnumicatins -especially in regards to your interpersonal relationship dynamics (as opposed to family or children). It's possible that relationship issues are beset with deception -intentional or not- and coming from you or coming AT you. If you are feeling like someone isn't being truthful especially in regards to career and buisness -wait, go slow and see how things develop as Mercury goes direct and passes out of Pisces. It's difficult to tell what is going on -your suspicions could be mistaken... or not. Get opinons from others without mistakenly inititating the conflict yourself by publicly intimating untrustworthiness from someone who actually IS worth your time.


Sagittarius Rising : Jupiter is transiting your 7th house of partnerships which is opening doors via friends and associates. A new relationship with someone especially giving or helpful is also possible and will continue to be possible until this june when Jupiter moves into the sign of Cancer. For some this will be due to a major move or shift in your home-life occouring or climaxing now. This is a time-period where you are likely to move but It might not be the BEST time to move as Retrograde Mercury in Pisces is issuing fog and confusion here as well. Signing rental agreements are very tricky right now. This isn't to say things will go wrong but they will likely end up different than you expected especially if there are certain difficult aspects your Natal Moon and or Natal Jupiter. Regardless there is major activity here: rennovations, remodeling, moving, roommate issues,ect will all be a highlight to this period and will continue to aggrivate and confuse until mercury goes direct and finally passes out of this house into your 5th house where the focus will turn to Love and romance, thank God. Unless things are looking grim and ready to collapse -then Goddamnit it all!
