Mars In Capricorn

Mars enters Capricorn today to join the North Node, Pluto, and Mercury. While the sun is still shining the solar light of consciousness in the wide open vistas of the fun-seeking Archer, there is still quite a bit of mojo in the business oriented house of the Sea-Goat, keeping the expansiveness tied to practicality and level headedness.

The warrior planet is said to be exalted in Capricorn for it's ability to master it's often reckless energies to produce something that matters, "matter" being the essence of the Earth signs. War, the expertise of Mars, has always been associated with big business and the building of empires, a theme that still very much alive in today's world.

While work and substantiveness are the oft quoted qualities of Capricorn, here with mars, we also encounter the "Lust of the Goat" typical of the pagan holiday of Saturnalia whose namesake comes from Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn. Saturnalia was, and still is, a high festival of joy and pleasure, Although in our modern world the celebrations are less orgiastic, thanks to the early church. People

Mars conjuncts Pluto and mercury. Although mars is in the sign of reservation, it's contact with Pluto can be destructive and with mercury there can be harsh words or arguments. With the moon in Pisces compassion should be present but as it passes into Aries at midnight the mood changes and becomes more urgent. It could be a time when people have the gumption or will to break off relationships or projects that are no longer working, or take responsibility to stand up to a person or situation that doesn't serve your own personal needs. All this is on the heels of a powerful lunar eclipse so be fully aware of your behavior and impulses especially where selfishness is concerned. Bridges burn easily during these critical times.

Mars will clash with the moon and Saturn today, so take heed. Moon and Saturn are a sign of sobriety at best and depression and myopia at worst. In the sign of Libra this may cast a grey light over relationship matters. With mars squaring the conjunction we may see struggles with authorities or parents and misunderstandings with angry results will be common as mercury goes direct the same day.

Obstacles, red tape and resistance will be experienced where we are pushing to make things happen. Relax as much as possible and realize that pushing may have little effect.
