Aries New Moon - March 30

Running late so I kinda burped this out. I hope it's illuminating.

I will say that anyone with planets at approximately 7-14ยบ of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) will feel the New Moon most strongly and for some it will be very strong indeed as this Moon aligned with both Uranus and Pluto the heavy hitting, radicalizing and transformative planets that are the greater omens of these great trials and tribulations shockwaving through our planet at the moment.

Indeed these are revelatory and revolutionary times in the larger world and within our own personal worlds. Consider this period to be an opening to make a fresh start and gain some momentum forward. Even though Mars, ruler of Aries, is Retrograde it's still very possible to gather momentum, press on and perhaps, get a head start. Where this initiatic quality manifest depends on your rising sign, scroll down to the bottom to get to the details.

WWIII & the Uranus-Pltuo Cycle

I have read the more popular commentary on this astrological cycle circulating through facebook and other blogs and there are some misconceptions. It is commonly said that Uranus is the great liberator and it's Square alignment to Pluto, the "dark lord" of power and subterfuge is the sign of the common man going up against the oligarchic, plutocratic powers-that-be. It's not really so simple. Uranus is just as much a 'bad guy' as Pluto is a 'good guy'. And the idea of simple good vs evil is commonly used as a psychological control lever by those very elite.

Yes, Uranus is rebellion and liberty but that alone is not "good". You know who has a prominent Uranus? Adolf Hitler and George W bush and Dick Cheney.

Liberty and revolution? ? Yes indeed, for them and on their own terms. Uranus rules disruption and technology as well, both things that can go either way on the "good-bad" scale.

-and although Pluto is the dark, underworldly ream of death, secrecy and the occult doesn't mean it's antithetical to your virtues and values. Yes, during this time period we are plagued with those who rule by secrecy and wealth (pluto is "lord of wealth") but Pluto's transit through Capricorn, the sign of business and industry, reveals the corruption, pollution and poison generated by such entities or "persons" as they are being called.

And it's true.

Corporations are persons. The word person comes from "personae" meaning a mask or 'false face'. Alternatively the term "people" means ""body of citizens; a multitude, crowd, throng,"" These 'persons' are made up of belief, collective agreement and the work of humans. They eat money and they drink attention. They strive to live, thrive and propagate themselves, just like us. They are, in effect, artificially intelligent machines with human beings as micro-organisms, neural networks and organs within their bodies.

The problem isn't that corporations are persons. The problem is that they aren't human beings.

Further problematic, they aren't held accountable for their crimes against humanity and nature.  These 'corperate-beings' are only vaguely sentient. They want to live but don't understand that they require humanity to exist in the same way that humanity all too often forgets that it needs nature to exist. Just as nature can wipe us out tomorrow so too can we take down corporations. It's deceptively easy for either one of us to go. It could happen literally overnight.

The Uranus-Pluto square contains all multi-faceted "sides" of this conflict  Humanity faces, how we organize ourselves and how we are ruled and our destructive shadow that is threatening not only civilization, the earth but perhaps worst of all: the nature of Humanity itself.

Over the next few days and weeks Uranus will come into an exact Square with Pltuo again and both will align with the natal chart of the US (one of em anyway, there are several and the exact time is debated among astrologers). This period should be, or continue to be, a time of great revelations, revolt and uprising on multiple levels from multiple players. Natural and man-made disasters will also likely continue until the suffering is great enough for people make a significant change within themselves.

These are epic, generation defining, times but just as the multi-faceted nature of these planets reveals levels of subtly and a lack of black-and-white polarity, there are many aspects and sides to your own life and how we can go about creating a new, sustainable civilization. Consider the whole instead of picking a side and make your move forward with the highest good of all living beings in your heart.y

The best way to topple a system is to create a new one and make the old obsolete. Fighting is worse than futile.

Remember that Warfare is progressively subtle and causalities are fewer and father between than in former times. The world is most certainly at war and the new battlefield is right between your ears.

What do you think?

Retrograde Mars Conjunct Eclipse Degree

So, retrograde Mars is moving over the same Degree as the upcoming Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Libra. This will be a time of frustration, loss, damage, fighting or willpower issues for those with personal planets at 23-26 Libra, Aries, Cancer and Capricorn. Although the Eclipse is not until April 15th, it's a powerful enough of a time that we can experience it's effects long before. Also the New Moon in Aries is coming up on Thrusday, ratcheting up the tension and spring-fever.

Enjoy the fireworks and have a fire-extinghusher nearby.

Spring Clean! Virgo Full Moon - March 16

Each year as the Sun passes through Pisces, the end of the zodiac, we have a Full Moon in Virgo. Spring Equinox follows soon after. While Spring and the sign of Aries represent renewal and birth, Virgo is the sign associated with identification and separation of wheat from chaff. After Virgo is Libra, the scales, upon which the wheat is weighed. In this way Virgo is said to be a sign of cleanliness, order and the efficient removal of what is no longer needed.

In my own life I am working with the Virgoan current by deleting the spam coming into my blog in the form of "comments" with links to things like "online black magic problem solution" and other crap. I'm also working on writing up some new content and catching up on written reports for my consultations and chipping away at a stack of books, mostly not Astrology related.

I'm also having trouble sleeping, as I often do around the Full Moon and this one in particular is getting me groggy. I have Libra rising so it falls in my 12th house of recuperation and is a time when we need to re-charge our batteries and 'lay low'. and Boy howdy does it seem that way. I'm like a big ole noodle in the mornings and have no interest in leaving the house except to languish in the mineral water hot tub and read. My life is pretty great, despite the grogginess.

So, if I may be excused, here is some content from a Virgo New Moon back in 2012...

While many different Goddess figures correspond to the constellation Virgo, the Greeks saw her as Astraea the "star-maiden". She was the last of the immortal Gods to live with humanity and when the Golden Age declined and entered into the Bronze age she fled into the stars no longer able to put up with humanity's decline into corruption and imbalance. Astraea is also identified or related with Dike, The Goddess of Justice and Nemesis the Goddess of rightful indignation. In this we see her has holding the scales of Justice and balance (Libra) and she who is enemy to those who do wrong and create imbalance.

In the Tarot Astraea is often featured as in the card The Star and is depicted as fulfilling the role of Aquarius the Water Bearer (The star card corresponds to the zodiacal sign of Aquarius).  In this she represents the future race of humankind that seeks to access the star-world of the heavens (which may not happen until we clean up our act and attain a level of purity and perfection).

Virgo Types
Virgos can be capricious and changeable when things don't meet their scrutiny or expectations and like Astraea, run away to more orderly habitations. Though they aren't known for being indignant   and irritable, when they are they tend to be right about it or justified in some way. There is always a good reason (to them!).  This is because Virgo is the sign of scrutiny and critical evaluation. She holds the scales (Libra) upon which are measured the wheat, recently separated from the chaff.  She hands off the chaff to Scorpio who summarily composts them. So, as a comparison, Virgo is separation, distinction and careful measurement while Scorpio is about elimination of impurities, death and regeneration.

This may be where we get the idea of Virgos being 'bossy' control freaks. They aren't. The control freaks are the Fixed signs : Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and (believe it or not) Aquarius. Virgo isn't about being in control of everything, she is about doings something better than before. She is about perfection and the analytical awareness that can improve upon a thing. Sure, she can go too far and get too focused on the minutiae or a thing and that's where she gets the deserved reputation for being nervous, anxious and high-strung.

During this time we get to activate or improve our Virgo natures whether they be front and center areas of our life and personae or on the 'back burner'. It's a time where we might have an opportunity to work on working and to clean up and  ship out to a new life. If something isn't working in our lives we have time to fix it, better it and perhaps even bring it to a new level of perfection. Just remember to relax a bit.

Other areas related to Virgo: Health and diet, hygiene, chores, service to another, servants working in your employ, nursing, clothing and all skills that require repetition to gain mastery and perfection(all skills require this)  plants and pets (particularly small animals and livestock).

Aaaannnnnnyhew, Enjoy this beautiful moon, the next Full moon will be an Eclipse in Libra, aligned with Uranus and powerful. Spring is on it's way and we live in epochal times! Get your act in order and get ready!

Mars Retro Pt II - What are you fighting for?

I was inspired to say a bit more about this Mars Retro period we are entering into. Sometimes the best way to look at these things is with a simple motto, so I will try to keep it simple that way.

Mars is our fighting spirit, what we fight for and the qualitative nature of how we fight.

When problematic, Mars attacks preemptively with vengeance and selfish anger. It's mean, petty and takes pleasure in destruction. It burns, cuts and breaks. It takes to the attack and becomes like it's opposition. Violence begets more violence.

Other times a problematic Mars, a weak Mars will not even fight at all and allow to be dominated and overcome without struggle for independence or standing up for one's boundaries.

During this phase we have a chance to look at our Martial nature and rethink our strategy, and react or respond in new ways.

Ask yourself "what am I fighting against?" and then ask yourself "what am I fighting For?"

If you are fighting against something you are fighting to fight and you are fighting for violence. In big ways and in small ways, inside and outside. Are you fighting for the right things in your life? Take care and choose your battles wisely, you may win.  What then?

And If you aren't standing up for something you are laying down and allowing the problems in your life and in the world around you to persist. Do people in your life need you? Does the world?

Have courage. Remember that courage doesn't mean lack of fear but persisting in spite of it.
